Considering a Laptop? Start With Your Needs and Budget
Compare a laptop with the work you need it to do, then review the full cost and any proposed payment agreement.

A laptop can support study, teaching, writing, or everyday tasks. The best starting point is the work you need it to do, rather than the most expensive model on display.
Match the computer to your tasks
For school, check the requirements of your course or institution. For teaching or writing, consider the applications you use, keyboard comfort, screen size, and portability. If you need specialized software, confirm its requirements before choosing a device.
Ask the retailer about storage, memory, battery expectations, support, and warranty terms for the specific model. Check whether software or accessories you need are included.
Compare the full purchase cost
Add up the computer, required software, accessories, and any service or delivery charges. Compare that total with your budget and the other options available to you.
If you are considering lease-purchase, review the cash price, payment amount and frequency, total scheduled payments, applicable charges, and conditions for ownership. Do not assume that a payment option will improve a credit score or guarantee approval.
Confirm eligibility before choosing an item
Okinus’s eligible categories include electronics at participating retail partners. Check with the retailer and Okinus about the item and intended use before relying on it for a purchase plan. Not every device or use is necessarily eligible.
