Lease-purchase basics
Lease-Purchase Programs 101: How Does It Work?
Understand the basic lease-purchase process, questions to ask before signing, and where to find Okinus support.

A lease-purchase option can give you a way to use eligible merchandise while making payments under an agreement. Understanding that agreement is the first step toward choosing an option that fits your needs.
How the process works
With Okinus, you begin by applying through the official application portal. If approved, review your result and select eligible furniture, appliances, or electronics at a participating retail partner. Okinus purchases the selected merchandise, and you use it under the terms of your lease agreement.
Your agreement explains the payment schedule and the conditions for obtaining ownership. Read it before signing, and keep a copy for your records. Lease-purchase is different from buying an item outright.
Look beyond the payment amount
Before you decide, review the cash price, payment frequency, total scheduled payments, and any applicable charges. Ask how the total changes if you exercise an available purchase option. A payment that fits your budget is only one part of the decision.
Do not assume the terms of one retailer, state, or agreement apply to another. Your agreement and application result provide the details that apply to you.
Ask about purchase options
If you want to obtain ownership sooner, ask Okinus to explain the options available under your agreement and how to exercise them. Confirm the amount, deadline, and required steps before making a decision.
Find the right next step
Approval amounts vary, and not all applicants are approved. Visit How it works for the current application path. If you need help finding a participating retailer, use retailer assistance, chat with our team, or call 800-472-1334.
